Healthy Harold’s Festival of Health will return to Moree in August, bringing health and wellbeing activities to local schools, early learning centres and the wider community.

One of the festival’s feature events will be the free Healthy Harold Colour Run at Jellicoe Park on Tuesday, August 4, from 3.30pm to 5pm.

The afternoon will include a Colour Run, free barbecue, giveaways and activities involving local organisations and family support services. Families are encouraged to wear a white shirt, and Life Ed says everyone is welcome at the free community event.

Life Ed said Healthy Harold would visit Moree schools and early learning centres as part of the festival program, delivering health and wellbeing education to local children.

Life Education NSW chief executive officer Terese Hooper said partnerships with schools and local organisations helped bring health education into regional communities.

“Every child should have access to high-quality health and wellbeing education, no matter where they live,” Ms Hooper said.

A free Family Cybersafety Information Session will also be held at PCYC Moree, 36 Boston Street, on Monday, August 3, from 5.30pm to 6.30pm.

Parents, carers and children are invited to attend together. Life Ed specialist educator Kira Hazel will lead the interactive session, which will cover online safety, technology use and device boundaries, with families also able to develop a Family Technology Agreement.

Life Ed said the session would be delivered in partnership with PCYC Moree and Centacare New England North West.

“This session gives families the opportunity to learn together and leave with practical strategies they can use in everyday family life,” Ms Hooper said.

Moree Online News has separately covered the Family Cybersafety Information Session in more detail, including practical advice from Ms Hazel about family technology agreements and helping children develop healthy online habits.
