The clock is ticking for campdrafters planning to compete at the 2026 JBS Mungindi Show Campdraft.
At 10am on Sunday, July 26, the digital gates will open for nominations, beginning a strictly limited 48-hour entry period for the two-day competition.
For riders planning to nominate, timing will matter before they even reach the arena. All nominations must be submitted through Campdraft One, with card payments also required to be completed through the online platform.
Seven events are listed across the two days, taking competitors from junior and juvenile divisions through to maiden, novice and open competition before the nomination portal closes.
A packed two-day program
The campdraft will be held at the Mungindi Showgrounds on Friday, August 7 and Saturday, August 8 as part of the wider Mungindi Show.
Action will begin at 7am on both mornings, giving competitors and spectators a full program around the campdraft arena.
The program covers several levels of the sport, with entry fees ranging from $5 for the youngest riders to $35 for the Open Draft.

Friday’s program places the $2000 Mervyn Dorrstein Memorial Open Draft between the Maiden and Ladies events, while Saturday will conclude with the $1500 Bill Davies Memorial Novice Draft.
The program includes two memorial events, alongside Junior, Juvenile and Encouragement drafts that provide competition opportunities across different age groups and experience levels.
Conditions competitors need to check
Different age limits, eligibility requirements and ride restrictions apply across the program.
The Ladies Campdraft is open to riders aged 17 and over, while the Junior and Juvenile drafts are divided by age. Conditions also apply to the Encouragement Campdraft, including restrictions on rides and eligibility.
Competitors should read the full program before opening Campdraft One to ensure they are entering the correct classes and understand the conditions attached to each event.
Organisers said the current program should remain in place unless cattle availability or nomination numbers require changes.
What spectators need to know
Spectators are welcome across both days of the campdraft, with normal Mungindi Show admission applying to everyone who is not competing.
The program also carries an important practical warning for those attending the showgrounds: mains power will not be available at this year’s show.
Anyone who requires electricity during the event will need to make their own arrangements.
Before the horses, cattle and competitors enter the arena, however, the first contest is against the nomination clock.
The Campdraft One portal opens at 10am on Sunday, July 26, and competitors will have 48 hours to lodge their nominations.
