The Moree Boars secured two wins over the North Tamworth Bears at Boughton Oval on Saturday, July 11, claiming victories in first grade and reserve grade during round 10.
Moree completed the day with a commanding 56–20 first-grade win, running in 10 tries and kicking eight conversions.
Adrian Smith led the scoring with three tries and eight conversions, finishing with a personal tally of 28 points.
Jock Brazel and Mark Pegus each crossed twice, while Dereik Newman, Jake Tighe and Cameron Rodgers also scored tries for the Boars.
North Tamworth opened the scoring before Moree responded through Newman, Smith and Tighe, with Brazel also crossing as the Boars established control of the match.
Pegus added his first try before half-time, while Brazel and Pegus each crossed again after the break. Smith added two more tries to complete his hat-trick, and Rodgers also scored during the second half.
The Bears finished with four tries and two conversions.
Moree’s Jamie Sampson was sent to the sin bin during the first half.
Earlier, the reserve-grade Boars defeated the Bears 36–10 after scoring seven tries to two.
Dwayne Smith and Steven Le Milliere each crossed twice, while Daniel Smith and Cody Picker also scored.
Moree kicked four conversions, with Shannon Hippi landing three.
The Bears scored two tries and kicked one conversion.
The Boars will travel to Kootingal on Saturday, July 18, to face the Kootingal-Moonbi Roosters in round 11.
Moree heads into the trip on top of the Group 4 first-grade, reserve-grade and women’s tackle ladders.
