POLICE are appealing for information as an investigation commences into an aggravated break, enter, and steal in Moree overnight.
At about 2.50am today, Thursday August 7, police attended a motel on Carnarvon Highway, Moree, following reports of an aggravated break-in.
Officers attached to New England Police District were told three people – two armed with sticks – forced entry into a room, waking the occupant.
The group assaulted the 56-year-old male occupant, before taking his car keys and leaving in his silver Holden Commodore.
The man did not require medical treatment, however; sustained minor injuries.
Just after 3am, police received reports the Commodore failed to pay for fuel at a service station on Blueberry Road, Moree.

Meanwhile, in an unrelated incident, a man faced court today charged following an investigation into a theft and armed robbery in Inverell yesterday.
At about 4.40pm on Wednesday, August 6, a man entered a supermarket on Byron Street, Inverell, where he allegedly grabbed food items and left the store without paying.
A short time later, the man entered another business on Vivian Street, Inverell, where he allegedly produced a knife.
The shop attendant alerted customers before she ushered them to the back of the store, before exiting.
Police were told the man approached the front counter and allegedly stole money from the registers before leaving on foot.
No-one was injured.

Following inquiries, about 5pm, police attended Vivian Street, Inverell, to speak with a man who was walking along the footpath.
The 23-year-old man was arrested and during a search of the man police located and seized, a knife, food, cash, and cannabis.
He was taken to Inverell Police Station and charged with shoplifting, robbery armed with offensive weapon, possess prohibited drug, and goods in personal custody suspected being stolen.
The man was refused bail to appear at Local Bail Division Court 5, today, Thursday, August 7, where he was formerly refused bail to reappear at the same court on Tuesday, October 14.
