A 20-year-old man will face court today following an alleged aggravated break-in and assault in Moree while another man, in an unrelated incident at Boggabilla, will also face court charged with domestic violence and assault-related offences.
At about 1.15pm yesterday, Wednesday, July 30, a man attended a home on Auburn Street, Moree, and kicked the front door when the owner answered and challenged the man before he ran away.
At about 1.30pm, the man attended another home on Allambie Place, Moree, where he forced entry and assaulted a woman and a man with a wooden stick, before he left on foot.
Officers attached to New England Police District attended and commenced inquiries into the incidents.
NSW Ambulance paramedics attended and treated the man for minor injuries to his head.
A short time later, police attended a home on Wales Street, Moree, and arrested a 20-year-old man, where he was taken to Moree Police Station.
The man was charged with aggravated break-and-enter commit serious indictable offence-inflict actual bodily harm, common assault (DV), and contravene prohibition/restriction in AVO (Domestic).
He was also charged with goods in personal custody suspected being stolen, and dishonestly obtain property by deception for unrelated matters.
The man was refused bail to appear a Local Bail Division Court 5, today.
Meanwhile, a man wanted on an outstanding arrest warrant will face court today charged with domestic violence and assault-related offences in Boggabilla.
Officers attached to New England Police District received reports of several alleged intimidation offences in Boggabilla between Sunday, July 20 and Monday, July 21.
Following inquiries, at about 1.15pm on Wednesday, July 30, police attended a home on Merriwa Street, Boggabilla, to speak with a man.
The man ran from the location and police commenced a foot pursuit.
He was arrested a short time later and taken to Moree Police Station.
The 24-year-old man was charged with two counts of stalk/intimidate intend fear physical harm, common assault, and affray.
Police also executed an outstanding arrest warrant for domestic violence, and weapon-related offences.
He was refused bail to appear at Local Bail Division Court 5 today.
