The final touches on Bundarra Showground’s renovations have been completed thanks to a $368,866 grant from the NSW Government’s Crown Reserve Improvement Fund.
I had the chance to get out there and see for myself how fantastic the showground looks now.
The renovations have been a four-year work in progress and the community will be able to enjoy the upgrades at the annual Bundarra Show on February 1-2.
Lamb and Potato Festival
I visited Guyra’s annual Lamb and Potato Festival on Tuesday and saw first-hand what a fantastic event it is.
The Lamb and Potato Festival is one of the biggest events on Guyra’s calendar. It showcases the best lamb, potatoes, and local produce.
It’s a great boost for the community and economy, attracting thousands each year.
It’s also a perfect stop for tourists, especially those escaping the heat of Tamworth during the country music festival.
I would like to congratulate everyone involved in getting the festival up and running, especially the new volunteers who came on for this year’s event festival.
Events like this wouldn’t happen without the dedication of volunteers.
Brendan Moylan visited Touriandi Lodge in Bingara to catch up with residents and see the new flooring.
Touriandi Lodge
It was great to get out to Bingara and visit Touriandi Lodge earlier this week to see their recently renovated floors.
Touriandi Lodge is a residential facility with 28 beds and is a true community organisation with a fully voluntary board.
Their new floors were much needed to reduce the risk of trips and slips and ensure the safety of residents, staff and visitors.
The upgrades came through a $37,000 grant from the NSW Government’s Community Building Partnerships program.
Well done to Touriandi Lodge for making this project happen.
Senior Local Achievement Awards
Nominations are open for the NSW Seniors Festival Local Achievement Awards.
These awards recognise the valuable contributions seniors make in our community.

Australia Day is this Sunday.
This year’s theme is Respect, Reflect and Celebrate. I hope we can come together and do this. Congratulations to everyone who is receiving honours in recognition of their contribution to our community. I hope everyone has a wonderful day.
Service NSW mobile service centres
Service NSW are bringing their mobile service centres to Mungindi and Boggabilla in February.
The mobile service centres can help with licensing, driver knowledge tests, working with children checks, birth, death and marriage certificates, and government rebate and voucher programs.
The Mungindi Service Centre will be at Barwon River Park, 155 George Street on Wednesday, February 5 from 10am-3pm
The Boggabilla service centre will be set up at Community Health Centre, 74 Merriwa Street on Tuesday, 4 February from 12pm-3pm.
Grants
The 2025 Community Building Partnership program will open on 28 January 2025.
Grants from $10,000 to $100,000 are available for infrastructure projects which deliver positive social, environmental and recreational outcomes, while also promoting community participation, inclusion and cohesion.
