POLICE are continuing investigations into a break-and-enter robbery at a Moree service station earlier this month.
At approximately 3.25am on January 6, an unknown male broke into the Ampol Service Station on Frome St, Moree.
An axe was used to smash the front glass door to gain entry.
Officer in Charge of Moree Police Station, Inspector Darren Williams, said the service station was closed at the time of the break-and-enter and the premises were unstaffed.
“On entering the store, the male attempted to gain entry to an automatic teller machine,” Insp Williams said.
“He has then removed several packets of cigarettes from some cigarette cabinets before fleeing the store.”
The actions of the male offender were captured on CCTV cameras.
The service station was cordoned off and closed for most of the day while police investigated the robbery.
