UPDATED: Police have located the body of a man following an extensive search and rescue operation at Beardmore Dam, St George.
The body was located in the water within the search area, just before 6am this morning, January 14.
A report will be prepared for the coroner.
PREVIOUSLY: A search-and-rescue operation continues to locate the man, reported missing in St George in southern Queensland since Monday.
Emergency services were called to Beardmore Dam Reserve just after 2pm on Monday following reports a man had dived into the dam and failed to resurface.
A search was immediately launched, involving police, SES and Queensland Fire Department swift water rescue crews.
Police divers have also been deployed to assist.
Police kindly ask locals to avoid attempting to search the area due to the potentially dangerous terrain, and to trust that emergency services are doing everything they can to locate the missing man.
