AN 82-year-old man has died following a quad bike crash south of Moree on Monday afternoon.
Emergency services were called to the scene about 4.30pm yesterday after reports of a vehicle crash, approximately 25km south of Moree.
Police from the New England Police District found a quad bike that had rolled over on the levee bank of the Tycannah Creek.
A man, aged 82, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The area was examined by forensic investigators and a report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.

Meanwhile, a man has been charged after four people died in a two-vehicle crash in the state’s west last week.
At about 9.20pm on Friday, September 27, emergency services were called to the Newell Highway, Tomingley, approximately 35 kilometres south of Dubbo, following reports of a multi-vehicle crash.
Officers attached to Orana Mid-Western Police District attended the scene and found a Toyota Hilux and a Toyota Hiace van had collided.
Two men who were in the utility – aged 19 and 18 – and a man and a woman, who were in the van –both aged 57 – all died at the scene. They are yet to be formally identified.
A 23-year-old male driver of the ute was taken to Dubbo Hospital with suspected leg injuries.
A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
Police established a crime scene, and with assistance from the Crash Investigation Unit, commenced inquiries into the crash.
Following an investigation, police arrested the 23-year-old man on Monday after he was discharged from hospital.
He was taken to Dubbo Police Station and charged with four counts of dangerous driving occasioning death – drive manner dangerous, driver not wear seatbelt properly adjusted and fastened and drive with two passenger seatbelt/restraint not properly fastened.
The man was given conditional bail to appear before Dubbo Local Court on Monday, October 21, 2024.
