AFTER a week of pre-polling, the final chance for residents across the Moree Plains to decide who leads the shire for the next four years has arrived.
There are 15 candidates to fill nine seats at the Moree Plains Shire Council’s Max Centre bunker, and voters have until 6pm today to decide who that nine will be.
Voters need to select candidates in preferential order from “1” to “5”.
If voters wish to vote for more candidates, place consecutive numbers, starting with “6”, in the squares next to those candidates in the order of preference.
Polls across the shire are open today from 8am until 6pm at the following venues:
Moree Masonic Centre;
Moree Secondary College multi-purpose centre;
Moree East Public School;
Boggabilla Central School;
Pallamallawa Public School;
Ashley Community Hall;
Boomi Public School;
Mungindi Memorial Hall; and
Toomelah Public School.
There are 15 candidates: Peter Mailler, Susannah Pearse, Brooke Sauer, Debbie Williams, Stephen Ritchie, Fred McGrady, Michael Ivanov, Wayne Tighe, Meryl Dillon, Dominique Hodgkinson, Mekayla Cochrane, Kelly James, Karen Munn, Kerry Cassells and Liz Taylor.
